MIM baby quilt

A friend of ours just had their baby on Thursday morning (Mar 29, 2012) and of course I cut the quilt out on Thursday evening using my AccuQuilt Studio. I just didn’t start sewing it together til Friday evening. I was hasten to sew curves, but I found a You Tube video on sewing the drunkard’s path, even though she was using bigger pieces then mine. But it gave me the idea!

I hate using pins!!!! And I did just that on the first three until I saw that You Tube video and she didn’t use pins. I gave it a try and I was just a bit off but that was ok. I finally got the hang of it and off I went. I finished the top Friday night.

Saturday was a day of trying to think of how to quilt the sandwich together and what border to put around the quilt too. I emailed one of my best quilting buddies and asked for her advice and boy was she full of them. But she insisted that I do the white border around the quilt and I did just that.

Then I was deciding if I wanted to piece squares around that white border, but I fell in love with just the white border and wanted to keep the eye on the design itself.

Here is the finished quilt…

Quilt Possible! is done by Ebony Love

You can read about Ebony here on her site.

I came across Ebony on the AccuQuilt Facebook page.

Why am I spotlighting Ebony on my blog?

In December of 2010, she did a 30 Videos in 30 Days!! Very helpful!! You can see all the “Videos“.

The first video you should watch if you are unsure which machine to get is Video #1: A Tour of AccuQuilt’s Die Cutters. The second video that you should watch is the Video #26: Aligning Fabric on the Die for Perfect Cuts!!

She also has done the Double Wedding Ring video and I can not wait to see this one. Maybe one day I can attempt to do this one. I just love the pattern. And I love that AccuQuilt has the die!!

Thank you Ebony for taking the time in doing these videos and helping us out on AccuQuilt’s Facebook page!!
